Meeting the newest addition...

When I did a Mommy and Me session for Sarah and Michael for a thoughtful Father's Day gift, I was really happy to finally meet her first son after working with her in a previous life for years.  In that year, families grow and she was excited to have me meet her newest addition Johnathan.  Capturing their little moments was a real pleasure.

This little handsome guy looks just like his brother, and has one set of lungs.

Thank you Sarah...let me know when we need to capture this little dude's cake bash.

The Paul Family at Arrowhead Ranch

Such a happy fun loving group.  With Grandma and Grandpa acting as some of the best photographer assistants a guy could ask for, we were able to get some great smiles from little Braydon.  With a combination of outrageous noises and maybe a stuffed animal or two, this little guy was a champ!  I'll be joining them this weekend for an Epic Cake bash.  See you guys soon!

Some Holiday Fun with the Heltzels

When Beth contacted me about photos of her two kids, I asked "Did you have anything special in mind?".  Her response, "make em look good...if I can get even one picture with BOTH of them in it, and maybe even smiling, I would be ECSTATIC".  Challenge accepted!

As you can see these two cuties were all smiles and expressions...Thanks Beth for the opportunity to meet Layla and Jack.  More to come soon!

Dwayne & Jackie's Family Session

Moving through some photos from a recent family session this week.  It was great to catch up with a buddy from school, meet his awesome wife and their adorable son.  Really the best part was being able to get some great maternity shots along the way.  The cool weather, great light and fun and an energetic Danny made for a great mid-week shoot!

Dwayne and Jackie, plenty more to come!

Sarah's Mommy & Me Session at Manistee Park

Here I am playing catch up on sessions...
But here is a fairly recent Mommy & Me Session with Sarah and Michael.

Sarah originally approached me sometime in mid-April with the idea of taking pictures for a Father's Day gift.   Having had photos taken with her Son in the past, she was hoping for something fun and new that she could incorporate into Dad's special day.  Making use of a craftily created sign, and with the help of a very patient Grandma...Sarah and Michael were able to tell Dad in the best possible way how much he means to them.

The tiny addition's new room...

When we heard that we were going to have a little girl, we were ecstatic.  My fiance, the naturally creative type, went to work putting together the little touches to make our baby girl's room unique and colorful.  She only needed the muscle to make it happen, and that's where I came in.  New baseboards, some drywall patches, a new coat of paint, and new closet doors.  From there, I was supervised in the hanging of the pictures, hammering the crib together, some spray painting and lastly putting together the glider.  When it was all said and done, Kiersten was left with an awesome room fit for a princess.

Bow, bows, bows and more bows...with a custom bow rack you better believe we're gonna make full use of all of those hooks.  And that this little girl will likely become a bow model :)

Just like her brother, she has her own handmade measurement board.  During the first year we'll chart each month as she progresses.  After the 1st year we'll measure every 6 months.  A silver sharpie helps us make the mark along with the date and her height.

The Altizer / Boye - Tlaquepaque Wedding in Sedona

Simple, elegant and beautiful.  Only a few words to describe a wonderful celebration full of love and happiness.  And, when Cara and Matt approached me to capture their special day I was more than excited to accept their offer.  Taking place in scenic Sedona, the ceremony was held in the quiet and enchanted Tlaquepaque Chapel.   Rocking out some epic shoes, they started out their new lives together shuffling down the aisle in style.

Sneaking through and getting into areas that were 'off-limits' didn't stop us from having a great time and getting some fun candid moments along the way.

Lending a helpful hand, and getting the clasp "just right" before their big debut.

New Series! "Abandon Highways"

Have you ever wondered what your commute would actually look like if it were completely devoid of any cars?

I'm excited to share a new project that I'll be working on this Summer.  This new series will take you to familiar and well know Highways throughout Valley.  These won't be your typical freeway shots, though.  This series will attempt to show you what our Valley's Highways would look like without the madness and endless streams of never-ending cars.  Here are a few sneak peak shots with more coming!

The Bouncing Bartlett Bunch at Sahuaro Ranch Park

What a perfect afternoon to spend at Sahuaro Ranch Park.  Amber and Tim, I've known for quite some time.  It's always great to catch up with friends, but it's also great to have an opportunity to be a part of their children's accomplishments.

Celebrating not only the graduation of a preschooler, but also the talents of a little league powerhouse; I was excited to shoot their special occasions.  With both kids full of energy and enthusiasm they were both very eager to entertain for a new friend with a camera.  Their curious nature and pure silliness helped me to capture some great shots.

The thing I love about Sahuaro is that there are plenty of little critters running around.  The animal that caught both children's interest the most was a peacock they dubbed 'Paul'.  With nearly 15 'Pauls' running around there were plenty opportunities to see the fun on their faces each time another one made his appearance.

It was a fun afternoon and even better knowing everyone had fun and enjoyed their time with their perplexing plethora of peacock Paul's.

Family Maternity Session at Heritage Square

Though delayed, I wanted to share some prior Maternity Sessions.  This is one of two posts in the coming day or so.

This session in particular is important to me because it captures the two sweetest ladies in my life.  Although, we haven't seen her yet the anticipation of her arrival is becoming increasingly heightened.  Due around the end of May, my daughter Kiersten 'escorted' her Mother, through Heritage Square in Downtown Phoenix.  The incredible flower garden near the historic house was in full bloom and made for a delicate and soft setting to capture great shots.  Our son was nearby and even got in on the action...for a short period of time.  Nonetheless, it was a beautiful success.

It's official, I'm on the 'internets'...

So here I am, writing my first official blog.  I'm also humming the Doogie Howser song...if only I could make the screen blue with white text.  Okay I digress.

I'm really excited to finally launch my official Photography website.  With a lot of changes in the past year, it's nice to finally kickoff something that I'm really passionate about.  People always say things happen for a reason and when life hands you lemons, make lemonade. Well, here is my lemonade stand.  Built from the ground up, I hope you enjoy the new site.

Please take a look around the site and let me know if you have any questions!
